Shout Out Sunday. Interview With Author Kam Salami.

What inspired you to write The Sleeping Giant?

After travelling to the mountains in China and spending time learning mediation.  It allowed me to truly grasp a better understanding of meditation and the true benefits it has for the soul.  After overcoming PTSD with alternative medicine including mediation, it pursued me to pass this knowledge onto others.

Give us an interesting fun fact about your book?

The contents of it came to me in an instant while I was meditating.

What do you feel separates your book from others?

It is written for an individual with no understanding of spirituality and allows the reader to take a journey from Why to How.

As a author, what are your top three priorities?

Make the reader really grasp the contents of the book, provide lasting change in the person’s life and give a lesson that person can pass it forward.

What advice would you give to aspiring authors?

To really not stop.  Many times, I thought why and the courage it takes to pass your knowledge forward is really invaluable.  As many have so many things to write about, but they don’t take the first step to do so.

If you could bring back a show for one season what would it be?

Definitely Mad TV.  It allowed me to laugh at myself and really brought back humor into a serious world.

If you could only eat three foods for the rest of your life, what would they be?

Definitely pizza, cereal and kiwis. Everything that’s kind of healthy, but not really, haha.

What’s the most marvelous thing you have ever seen with your own eyes?

When I was with the military I saw the northern lights and it was the most incredible thing I have ever witnessed.

What is the hardest personal goal you’ve set for yourself?

To become an entrepreneur and quit the 9-5 race.

If you could go back to one historical event to witness it, what would it be and why?

I would want to feel the crowd’s energy and be there during the Martin Luther King speeches of I had a dream.

How can everyone keep in contact with you on social media?

They can follow up with my newest stories and info at Kammylife on Instagram and Kam Salami on LinkedIn.
