Bianca McMillian is an actress/entertainer from Memphis, Tennessee.  With over 10 years of experience in entertainment, Bianca specializes in stage plays, features and short films, and voice overs for animation.  Bianca’s vivacious, creative and confident personality has made her a key component in Memphis’ performing industry. When Bianca is not acting, she enjoys editing, filming and directing.  Bianca’s passions include making people laugh and taking care of others.

How did you discover your passion for comedy?

My passion for comedy honestly just came about, ya know? It wasn’t nothing I was trying to really DO.  It kind of just happened, hahaha.  I remember getting notes sent home or phone calls from teachers saying I was laughing too much in class or I played around a lot in class.  Just being silly here and there, but I never really saw comedy as my thing, just acting.  I’ve heard my comedic timing is good, so hey! There it is!

What are the pros and cons of being a comedian?

Well, let’s clear that up.  I am not a comedian!!! Hahaha, again I AM NOT A COMEDIAN.  Doing stand-up is a totally and COMPLETELY different form of art.  Now I do consider myself a “comedic actress”.  I don’t know if anyone noticed or not, but Will Smith for example.  That man is not a comedian, but he is funny as hell! That’s what you call a “comedic actor or actress”.  Melissa McCarthy, same thing.  But all honesty I truly salute comedians.  The pros of being a comedic actress is making people feel good, while operating in my gift.  The rush I get when doing it.  Improving is the best when you’re playing different characters.  It allows you to bring a piece of you out.  The cons are being mistaken as a comedian.  The constant thought of what if people don’t laugh.

Describe your comedy in three words.

I would say “funny”, hahaha.  Obviously “natural” and “southern as hell”.

Where do you see yourself in five years contributing to comedy?

In five years, I see myself having my own live improv comedy show and touring every week! I would like to be on a show or movies that is written , directed and produced by Tyler Perry , Will Smith , Issa Rae and Spike Lee.  I would love to do videos with my favorite social media influencer, BlameItOnKway.

Tell everyone about your I Can Do It Too T-Shirt line?

“I can do it too” is a movement of new age confidence.  It’s a mood, it’s a vibe, it’s a moment where you look at the next person like “Bih if you can do it I CAN DO IT TOO”. “I can do it too” helps you overcome ANYTHING you feel you CANT do. “I can do it too” is an empowerment brand for women.  It began as brand for plus size women, but as it grow, it will reach ALL women. “I can do it too” purpose is it to motivate women and let them know that no matter what color, size, shape, or disability that they have to be held back by society’s standards.

What made you pursue film making?

I pursued filming, because people told me I had to, lol.  I grew up in theatre, so when I found out how much of a difference filming and theatre acting was…I was like “wait a minute, this is hard work!” I mean theatre is a lot, A WHOLE LOT of work.  Don’t get me wrong, but on screen acting is a different level.  It took me a minute to finally get use to it and I’m still learning as I go.  It took me a minute to NOT speak so loud, because the camera is right there.  Compared to being on stage where everything is over the top and big.  That’s what I love, because I’m extra as hell, hahaha.  I got into filming, because of the love of acting, period.  I want to know every aspect of acting, whether if it’s from the stage to the screen, voiceovers, holding the camera to editing the footage EVERYTHING.

Any other upcoming projects you would like to share with readers?

I have a couple upcoming projects I’m working on, but everything is on hush hush.  But it’s coming.

What skill would you like to master?

A skill I would like to master as an actor or entertainer is crying on cue and standup comedy.

What’s the best prank you can play on someone?

The best prank I could probably play on someone is being pregnant or somebody trying to fight me.

Would you rather live for a week in the past or the future?

Hmmm, that’s tough.  I’ll say the past, only for a financial reason though.  No, regrets on or changes on anything else though .

What memory do you just keep going back to?

A memory I go back to would be my first time even touching a stage.  I like to reminisce to see how far I’ve come in my craft.

Who is someone that has impacted your life or helped you become who you are?

My mom and dad have helped me A LOT in becoming who I am today.
