How does it feel to be selected as one of the Abners Angels?

It is an honor to be recognized for my passion and hard work within the modeling industry.  I’ve been on this dedicated journey as a natural hair model and influencer for a little over four years.  Opportunities like this one push me to work harder everyday.

What are your modeling goals for 2019?

My modeling goals for 2019 are to be the face of a brands natural hair campaign.  Build long lasting relationships with brands who appreciate and respect influencers and expand my brand to begin partnering with makeup and beauty brands.

What has been your favorite shoot / campaign / work to date?

My favorite campaigns have all come from working with CURLS Company.  I love that CURLS allows their influencers to express themselves naturally, without imposing on their creative process.  I was able to truly express my creativity with no stipulations and that is my favorite part about being a model and influencer.

What physical features do you get the most compliments on?

I would have to say my smile! I am a very high energy individual and I often hear that my smile and laugh are contagious.

What’s one of your proudest moments in your career?

When I booked my first paid gig.  Being such a small influencer I really felt as if the company believed in me and my message.

What do you do to stay in shape?

I try to hit the gym at least three times a week.  Staying disciplined is also very important to staying in shape, so I am very cautious about what I put into my body.

What do you think you look the sexiest in?

A hoodie, some sweat pants and some fye kicks!

What’s one thing you’ve learned about yourself from a past relationship?

That I am a very independent person and a lot of people cant handle that.

Which insecurity would shock people if they knew about it?

Not feeling pretty enough.  In the industry I work in were constantly pressured to look the part 24/7, even when we don’t feel like it.  This is also a very competitive field and sometimes it’s easy to get caught up in comparing yourself to others.

When was the last time a stranger made your day?

Just yesterday actually.  I was in the grocery story and this lady acted as if she had just seen Beyoncé, lol.  She approached me and said wow you are beautiful!

Would you rather live for a week in the past or the future?

A week in the future, because you can’t change the past.  On the downside if I were to see a week into my future and I didn’t like it then I could possibly change it.

Do you think your childhood was better or worse than other people growing up in a similar place and time?

I think my childhood was a bit of both.  I grew up poor, but my parents made sure I never knew as a child.  I was too busy being a child enjoying life to even realize the circumstances of our situation.
