Tell everyone about your new single “Whose Side?” and how they can purchase it?

I just released the video for Whose Side? it’s a fun, colorful video with a feel-good vibe.  We shot most of it in my condo and I had a lot of support from friends.  I was the co-creative director for the video and the co-producer of the song.  The inspiration for ‘Whose Side?’ was a mixture of things, a phrase my best friend always says “whose side are you on?” initially inspired the concept.  I then came up with a bass line and found a drum sound in the studio.  I was trying to decide whether to keep dating someone or cut him off at the time and that was a major influence for the lyrics.  Whose Side? is available on all streaming platforms and the video is on YouTube.

How would you describe your musical style?

I’m genre-fluid, but always have a soulful vocal.  I combine elements of R&B, Soul, Jazz, Blues, Dance, Hip-Hop, Gospel and Electronic styles to create my sound.

Artist you would like to do a song with?

Brent Faiyaz.

How do you feel about the internet in the music business?

It’s a blessing and a curse, but it is essential either way.  It’s easier to access music and find new artists, which I love. It’s also easier to put out music and market yourself, but it is harder to break into the industry for the same reason.  There are millions of people out there doing the same thing and the Internet is oversaturated with content.

Any upcoming projects coming up that you would like to share with readers?

I’m releasing a solo LP, an R&B album with a friend of mine and several music videos this year.

What activities brought you joy and made you feel alive as a child?

Singing always brought me joy as a child.  I used to dance around the house a lot to whatever music my parents were playing.  I enjoyed spending time with friends. When I was really young, maybe up until six years old or so, I loved climbing up the cabinets and furniture.  Strange fact about me, I loved to eat chapstick as a young child.  My parents would hide it on top of the refrigerator and I would climb up the cabinets to get it!

What’s the most beautiful beach you’ve been to?

Diamond Beach in Iceland.  There are huge pieces of iceberg fragments that drift ashore, it was incredible to see the sunrise there!

If you could go on a date with any celebrity who would it be?

A hilarious man who will keep me laughing all night.  If based on looks, I would choose Jason Momoa.

Who is your favorite historical figure?

Nikola Tesla.  That man was a genius and didn’t get the credit he deserved.

What’s something everyone should experience at least once in their life?

Spiritual awakening.  Once you wake up, it lasts a lifetime.

If you could write something on a billboard for the world to see, what would it say?

Be the light.
