Jewel is a published freelance model in Atlanta, Georgia that specializes in dance photography as well as ballet performances. Jewel began her modeling career at 17 years old.  She started off doing power shoots, and portrait shots for local photographers. She has worked with major public figures such as LaLa Milan, B. How does it feel to be selected as one of the Abners Angels?

I feel so honored to selected as one of the Abners Angels.  This is the first time I’ve been recognized in this way for my hard work.

How long have you been modeling and what inspired you to become a model?

I have been modeling for about four years now.  Being a brown dancer, I felt very alone.  There weren’t very many role models to look up to.  I wanted to change that and give those under me something to look up to.

What are some of the perks working as a model?

Most of the time when I model for brands, I get to keep the merchandise.  You get a lot of free stuff.

Would you ever get plastic surgery?

Never.  Being a classically trained ballet dancer, I went through a lot of body shaming.  It took a long time to learn to love my body, I would never do anything to modify it.

Do you prefer indoor or outdoor shoots?

I’m starting to prefer indoor shoots.  When I first started modeling, I did a lot of outdoor shoots, because there was unlimited space for me to dance.  Now, I’m focusing more on modeling, not movement.

What do you think you look the sexiest in?

I think I look the sexiest in black on black anything.  I feel like black is the most flattering, simplistic thing a lady can put on.

Would you be able to date an unattractive person with a beautiful personality?

I absolutely would.  I’m definitely a “beauty lies within“ gal.  Especially, since there is so much emphasis on my looks with my job, I find it to be extremely important to focus on one’s personality and spirit.

What’s your favorite rap love song?

My favorite rap love song is definitely “Martin & Gina” by Polo G.  The beat is simple and he really embodies the entire Martin & Gina relationship perfectly.

Relaxing vacations or action vacations?

Relaxing vacation all the way.  I think the body is always in need of rest.

Arctic or the tropics?

Tropics.  I am in love with the warm weather, I cannot do the cold.

If you could write something on a billboard for the world to see, what would it say?

If I could write something on a billboard, I would say “Don’t worry, it’ll be your time to shine very soon”.  This pick-me-up statement for me through my hardships in life.  Sometimes you have to remind yourself that your time is coming.

What song has been on repeat lately for you?

The song “Damage” by H.E.R. has definitely been on repeat.  I’m completely an R&B fan.

What is the hardest thing you’ve had to tell someone in the last year?

The hardest thing I had to tell someone this year is “ I don’t think Corona is going to allow you to graduate.” I did get to see some of my closest friends walk across that stage.

How can everyone keep in contact with you on social media?

Everyone can follow me on Instagram @jeweldellis or @jewel_ballerina.
