Angel is a signed model, actress and owns her own Social Media
Management Agency based out of Atlanta, Georgia. When she’s not working on
a project, she likes to try new experiences, network and workout. Angel’s personality can be described as self-motivated, positive, gets along with anyone, fun and easy-going.

How does it feel to be selected as one of the Abners Angels?

It feels amazing to be selected among such beautiful women, I’m truly honored.

What inspired you to become a model?

My whole life I was always told I had a look that was different and
felt like, because I wasn’t tall or skinny like the models in the
industry at the time, that I wouldn’t be able to make it or agencies
wouldn’t want me.  My mother tried to get me into modeling as a child,
but I didn’t like the spotlight being so young, so it took me a while
to accept my differences.  In college, I started a style blog and was
working with a photographer that made me feel like I could really
model.  I then moved to Charlotte and decided that I wanted to try it
out, work with some other photographers and see where it goes.  Now,
here we are!

How do you maintain your figure?

Now that I’ve moved to Atlanta, I am taking my health and fitness more
seriously.  It is important for me to put my best self forward.  I

workout in the morning during the weekdays at least three times before
work and then two more times on the weekends.  My workout routines are
very HIIT and high-rep focused.  My diet has changed.  I just ate at a
restaurant for the first time in two months since moving here.
Everything I eat is store-bought and prepared in my own kitchen.

Do you prefer indoor or outdoor shoots?

Indoor shoots. Outdoor shoots are great when the concept matches the
scenery or it’s a lifestyle shoot. Indoor shoots have a cleaner look
in my opinion and the lighting can be controlled better.

What do you think you look the sexiest in?

I just did a shoot in a red high waisted bodysuit. I felt super sexy
in that! My arms were covered and so was my neck, but my legs were
completely out. Sometimes it’s about balance.

What three things do you need to be successful as a model?

A developed portfolio, practice and professionalism.

What are you most insecure about?

My skin. Something people don’t know about me is I wasn’t born so
fair-skinned. It is something I had to accept when my pigment left my
body so young from a skin condition. It’s my most noticeable feature
so I love it, but it is something that I have always been
self-conscious about since I was a child.

What makes you feel alive?

Stepping out of my comfort zone. Traveling to new places for shoots.
Meeting new people and creating new connections. New experiences.

What scares you the most about marriage?

The traditional expectations that marriage is to last a lifetime. I
think marriage can last a lifetime, people do it, but for those who
can’t, it may feel like a failure. I don’t want to experience that.

Who has impacted you most positively this year?

To follow up on the previous question, I would have to say my
husband. He always supports everything I do and helps me make the best decisions.

What activities brought you joy and made you feel alive as a child?

Going to the beach or pool. I was raised in Florida, so we went to the
beach often and I loved to swim.

What is something about life that people don’t appreciate as much as
they should?

The simple things like moments of peace and even moments of
reflection. As we grow as models, creators, etc, we forget how far we
have come, because we are too busy trying to get to the next level.
Taking a moment to stop and appreciate what you have now and how far
you’ve come are things I don’t think we spend enough time doing.

What must be seen or experienced in person to really appreciate it?

A joke or food. Most people have a hard time explaining a joke for
those who weren’t there to see the execution of it. Food can’t be
described as good as it is tasted.
