What inspired you to start Porshia Collection ?

I didn’t see anything in stores that I wanted to wear and I wanted to create custom clothes that stand out.  I always had an eye for fashion as a kid, I knew I was different and at 12 I knew in my heart God blessed me with a gift.  I suffered from depression and anxiety, designing was the one thing that kept me calm and was therapeutic.  I later decided to make a career out of it.   

What was your biggest fear when going out and starting your line?

My biggest fear when I started my clothing line was investing into a brand, going broke and having to move back home. 

What current items are your best sellers?

My best sellers are my custom puffer coats and custom gowns.  Also my zipper face mask that you can unzip and drink out of them. 

How do you want people to feel when wearing your clothes?

I want people to feel beautiful, confident and sexy.  I want women all over the world to feel loved and love themselves no matter what shape, size or race they are. 

Are there any stores that sell your merchandise? If not, would you be open to the idea of having it sold at different retailers? 

I currently have a website PorshiaCollection and will be opening up a store this year. 

What are your three favorite items in your closet?

My fedora hats, black jumpsuits and my puffer coats.

Name something that your mother or grandma cooked that was your favorite?

Fried green tomatoes.

What should every woman try at least once in her life?

Doing what makes them happy and living life how they want without worrying what others think or say.

What current trend is going to look the silliest in 10 years?

Puffer coats and bell bottoms.

Tell me something about yourself that sounds made up, but is 100% true?

I’m a high school dropout who started my business with $125.00, I believe that dreams are real if you keep your faith and work hard you can go far in life.
