Abners Angels Presents Interview With Model “Yaya Aunya”

Yaya Aunya is originally from Iowa, but based in Huntsville, Alabama. She has been modeling for a year and a half and already has been published in almost 10 magazines nationally and internationally. She is currently a college student on the verge of graduating.

How does it feel to be selected as one of the Abners Angels?

It feels great! I am honored to be recognized.

What made you become a model?

I grew up watching modeling shows like ANTM.  I would also watch multiple well known supermodels runway shows on YouTube.  It inspired me to practice my posing, my walk and be confident in the skin I am in no matter how slim and tall I am.  I’ve been modeling for a year now and I love it!

What do you think your best physical feature is?

I believe my best physical feature are my long legs.

What are some of the perks working as a model?

Some perks of being a model is being able to inspire people who are very tall like me or shy to see that they can model also.  Just being able to express myself in another way.

What are the main challenges in modeling today?

I would say some of the main challenges in modeling today is body positivity or feeling objectified.

What really makes you angry?

Is having to repeat my name more than once or twice after telling someone how it’s pronounced.

Ever cheated on a partner?

No.

What has social distancing taught you so far?

Social distancing has taught me to enjoy every moment with your friends and family.  Be in the moment.  Not being able to see them, shows how much they mean to me.

What sucks about your current age and why?

I honestly wouldn’t say anything sucks about my current age.

What’s your most embarrassing childhood memory?

I honestly don’t remember an embarrassing childhood memory, but I used to walk to school and always had to jump over a fence.  On my way there and one day I ripped my pants jumping over and went to school just like that.

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?

Japan.  The country is beautiful and the respect they have for one another is amazing.  I think Japan holds a unique beauty, especially with cherry blossoms and also anime overload.
