Working Woman Wednesday. Interview With ViimFit Owner, Suekay Deniz.

Tell readers about your ViimFit business and when did you start it?

ViimFit was launched in February of 2019, but the dream started in 2016.  I designed Viimfit to be a brand that not only has colorful fashionable items, but a brand that helps to motivate others into a healthier lifestyle.

Are there any stores that sell your merchandise? If not, would you be open to the idea of having it sold at different retailers.

Currently our items are sold online, we also are at a local community center that host Zumba and health classes.  We plan to roll out more instore partnerships soon!

What is one thing you think customers should know about your store that they may not be aware of?

ViimFit just rolled out ambassador/affiliate program that will help influencers make commission from sales they generate.  We have also added free shipping on all orders over $75.00.

What do you want your supporters to know about you?

I would want my supporters to know we are extremely big on helping others, where it be with resources or knowledge.  ViimFit stands on the core values of diversity & inclusion we want everyone to succeed.

What kind of exercises you do to stay in shape?

My exercises vary as weeks go by, but my core workout consists of heavy weight training 3-4 days a week.  A quick cardio work out, 5-minute sprint session or 15 minutes on the stair master.

What was your favorite moment from your senior year in high school?

I honestly wish I had cherished high school a bit more, I missed out on doing a lot of things my senior year.  If I could go back, I would have definitely done more in that last year of high school.

What is your most cherished childhood memory?

Would have to be friends teaching me how to ride a bike at the age of 13, cruising on the bike down to the candy house.

What’s the craziest thing a guy has ever done to get your attention?

Well I was talking to this guy on the phone, but I had to go get ice cream with my sisters.  He kept trying to stall me on the phone.  I kept telling him I have got to go, he just would not hang up and kept telling me these stories.  Finally, about 15-20 minutes later he said “okay you can go get your ice cream”.  We hung up the phone and I walked outside, he was outside my house with three different kinds of ice cream.  He became my husband, lol.

What must be seen or experienced in person to really appreciate it?

BORA BORA!! A few years back my husband and I traveled to Bora Bora as a Valentine’s trip, it was beautiful.  Not only was it gorgeous and almost surreal, but I was able to witness a beautiful traditional Polynesian wedding.

What’s the most memorable thing a friend has done for you?

A friend who bartended with me gave me about $50.00 of her tips, that helped me put gas in my car and buy some food.  There was a moment back in 2007 that the economy had crashed, I had closed my business.  I was out of work with no money, I started working as a waitress for a few months.  It had been slow and I was only working two days a week from 2-7 P.M.  I am forever grateful to her for that moment.

Tell me something about yourself that sounds made up, but is 100% true?

Mmm…This is a hard one.  I would say my name Suekay, my mom got it from a Japanese soap opera! In Japanese it means sugar water or pronounced Sukai, means sky.  We are not Japanese at all.
