Lucinda Valdez, also known as model CiCi was born in the Philippines and located in Tampa, Florida. She left at a young age and seems like she’s been moving everywhere ever since. With life’s ups and downs, she’s grateful to have her son by her side. Isaiah has given her hope and has helped her become a better person. She hopes to stay at her current location. She has been modeling for almost a year now and has signed to an agency late December of 2019. She’s been published internationally along with many other publications. With all the recognition she has received, she can’t wait to see what more the future holds in the industry. She’s thankful for it all. Her hobbies include drawing, shopping, taking pictures, meditating and exercising.

How does it feel to be selected as one of the Abners Angels?

It feels great being recognized more and more.  This would be my second interview.  I feel more confident and empowered to take the next steps in this industry.  Thank you for giving me the chance to partake in this.  I’m very grateful.

What are some of the difficulties of the modeling business?

So many girls are desperate to be models and predators know this.  There’s a lot of fake modeling jobs online.  Even if you don’t run into a trafficker, there’s still a good chance you will run into someone who sexually harasses/assaults you.  I remember getting an email from this guy, wanting to hire me for a shoot where I’m tied down and tickled on video.  Weirdest thing I’ve ever heard, I didn’t follow through.  Being signed with an agency doesn’t guarantee protection.  I always have someone with me.  You really have to be careful at the same time.

What physical features do you get the most compliments on?

My lips, my eyes and hair.  I love all three.

What are some of the perks working as a model?

New experiences! You get to work with different photographers/ models and every shoot is at a different location.  As a model you’re exposed to different life skills.  My confidence and communication skills have improved a lot.  I also love getting the pictures back.  They always turn out 10x better than what I expected.

What is one model/photographer you would love to work with?

Photographer @terrol_henderson! We’re making it happen, check him out.  His work is amazing!

What are your modeling goals for 2020?

The agency I’m signed with is based in Miami.  I plan on going down there more, to start participating in the bigger things.

What’s something non-drug related you’re addicted to?

As far as I know, addiction is when you feel you can’t live without a particular thing.  You start to experience withdrawal symptoms, when you try to get off of it.  In that sense, I’m not addicted to anything.

What is one thing you absolutely won’t compromise or sacrifice for a relationship?

My sanity.  My peace of mind is crucial to my overall existence, I’m a spiritual person.  I won’t be able to thrive easily with someone who is agnostic, materialistic and rejects my values.

Is there something you have dreamed of doing for a long time, if so why haven’t you?

I would really love to go visit the Philippines again.  I was in 6th grade the last time I went.  I would love to see my family that still resides there.  I know my grandma will be visiting again sometime soon and I’m hoping to make that trip with her.  I would also love to see Michael Jackson’s star on the Walk of Fame.

What is a common misconception, people might have about you?

I’m told I look rude or stuck up.  But anyone that knows me, knows that I’m the first to congratulate, loan money, give rides, spot you, etc. People also think I’m way smarter than I am, because I don’t talk much.  To be honest, I’m actually kind of dumb and half the time can’t even think of what to say in most situations.

If you could go back and relive one year from your childhood, which year would it be and why?

I don’t remember my childhood that well.  I’d definitely go back and change some of my decisions though.
