Edward Howard is the owner of Dickie’s Cafe and located in Sanford, Florida. Born and raised in Sanford, Edward opened Dickie’s the beginning of this year. He likes cooking and riding motorcycles. He is an entrepreneur and owner of Dickie’s Auto Sales.

Why did you decide to pursue a career in the restaurant business?

Cooking has always been my passion.  One of things I remember the most about growing up is helping my mother and grandmother in the kitchen.  During their time of illness, I was able to utilize the skills they taught me to prepare their meals.

What is unique about your restaurant?

I know this sounds like a cliché, but the food is prepared with love.  The signature Dickie’s wing sauce is also unique.

What does your business do to keep your menu new and exciting?

We are constantly revising and adding additional dishes to our menu.

What role do you think social media plays in food today?

It plays a major role for small businesses such as mine.  I’ve gained several customers just by shares and likes on social media.

Describe your food in three words?

Delicious, favorable and amazing.

If you were given $10,000 to throw an amazing party, gathering, or event, what would that look like?

Soul food feast such as greens, macaroni and cheese, ham, turkey, chicken and etc.  The list goes on and on.

What is your favorite food and restaurant?

Restaurant is Dickie’s Cafe and I love everything on the menu.

What should every man try at least once in his life?

Pursue their passion and/or dream.

What is your most treasured memory?

Growing up with my mother and grandmother and the day I married my wife.

Has there been an incidence that has changed your life forever?

When my job closed down.  This was the push I needed to step out on faith and pursue my dream.

What do you want to be remembered for?

My love of family, giving back to the community to help those in need and my cooking of course.
