Tell readers about your Quente’Sential Branding and when did you start it?

Quente’sential Branding is a brand development and public relations company that I started in 2011.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I had been in the industry for a few years and began discovering that so many small brands and businesses were struggling to figure out the proper ways to package and present their business.  I started assisting friends with their business and it caught on. Became apart of me.  I always see myself helping someone get to new levels in life.  That is how Quente’Sential branding was born.

What are some of your goals for the future of The Quintessential Gentleman?

The Quintessential Gentleman was birthed by my best friend, who is an amazing visionary.  There was a void in our community and the black male needed a voice, the black male needed a face, the black male needed an image that was completely different than what the news media continued to show.  We were and are more than a hashtag, we are men of influence.  With the Quintessential Gentleman, we have been able to be that outlet that we as a culture can be proud of.

What do you feel separates your magazine from others?

The Quintessential Gentleman came onto the scene during a time when black men needed the best representation possible and because of that we quickly made a name in the industry. The hard work that goes behind producing quality content is a major thing as well.  We hope to be the blueprint for everything that comes after us.

What is one thing you think customers should know about your business that they may not be aware of?

One thing that I feel anyone looking to build a brand should always be mindful of is this one truth, the dream only works if you do.  If you aren’t passionate and displaying that passion, often times people won’t be passionate about it either.  You can have the best team, but YOU are your greatest spokesperson.

Any upcoming projects coming up that you would like to share with readers?

I do have some things coming up over the next few months.  I recently became a brand ambassador for the #StopHIVATL campaign.  Amazing case with a great message so definitely check that out.  I would say as other projects are in the works, keep an eye on my social media for any updates.

Grammys or Oscars?

I Like the Oscars.  The stars are more relaxed and true personality often comes out.

Personal chef or personal fitness trainer?

I love to eat, but I know I need a trainer.  I think I’m going to go with the personal chef.

What’s one small thing you could do each day that would greatly improve your life?

For me personally, I would say making the effort to spend at least two hours not checking my phone and enjoying quiet time.  Life is so full, I need to enjoy more simplicity.

What is the #1 thing on your bucket list?

One major thing on my list is travel.  I want to inspire by being inspired by other cultures.

What memory do you just keep going back to?

The memory of what is something I often go back to.  With business, relationships and more I often wonder if I made different choices what would be the different outcomes.

How has your family shaped your personality and who you turned out to be?

My family was very tight and believed in not hold the truth back from us.  My parents shared, my parents educated and inspired.  My grandparents and extended family as well.  I find myself in my 30’s being the one who loved to host family functions at my home.  I host holiday’s and just because cookouts.  I was taught that a community is an important thing to have as you or anyone is developing into the person they are destined to become.
