Chef Jamie Walker is the owner of Seafood Connection Charlotte.  Since its opening in 2016, Seafood Connection Charlotte has become a familiar landmark known for its fresh catch and secret sauce, earning them significant attention online.  The restaurant has received a host of celebrity guest appearances and mentions from Allen Iverson, Devin Funchess, Hezekiah Walker and Peter Thomas.  It has served as a popular weekend hotspot for relaxed family-friendly outings and casual date nights.  However, Walker looks forward to creating a more polished and unique experience inside the restaurant for Charlotte’s food enthusiast community, leading event planners, and top media influencers.

Why did you decide to pursue a career in the restaurant business?

Due to the success of the pop-up locations and the food truck I owned.  I wanted to create an experience for my customers to enjoy all of their favorite dishes, as well as create a space for me to try new things.

What role do you think social media plays in food today?

Social media gives me inspiration to create new things as well as perfect current ideas.  I can also learn more about my customer.  I can see what people like and what I can improve inside the restaurant.

What is your favorite cuisine to cook?

Anything seafood!!!!

What does your business do to keep your menu new and exciting?

We are always testing new recipes as well as remixing current ones.  We are hosting our first menu reveal on May 7 at the Seafood Connection, to give customers a sneak peek into a few new dishes that aren’t currently on the menu at the restaurant.  We have a few more exciting things in the works that I think will give the menu some new flavor.

What’s one of the bestselling items at your restaurant these days?

Hands down, the crab legs!!!

What’s your guilty pleasure snack, drink, or junk food?

Junk food.

If you could hold on to one memory from your life forever, what would that be?

Moving to Charlotte and starting my business.

Deep Sea Fishing.
