Priyanka Banks is the founder and CEO of Priyanka’s Palace, a footwear company that bears her name.  Priyanka was born in Atlanta, Georgia, attended Alabama State University where she majored in theatre, a major where she was trained in all the things.  She enjoys doing such as acting, dancing, and performing.  Since college she took over the theatrical circuit in Atlanta and later landed a role as a main cast member for VH1 Sorority Sisters.  Shortly after , landed a role in a film “The Plug” which is on Amazon currently.  She has shot numerous of commercials and hair campaigns. Throughout her teenage and college years she has always had issues with finding dance shoes and fashionable shoes in her size.  Priyanka wanted to make shoes to fit her personality and that catered to women of taller statue or women with large feet. Although Priyanka’s shoe line may not cater to every woman , she has apparel and has expanded her brand with bling sunglasses, clutches, and will soon launch her swimsuit line and fitness apparel for women and men to support her brand.

When did you become interested in fashion and how long have you been a business owner?

I have been interested in fashion since I was a little girl , watching my mother wear fur coats and sequin dresses.  I have been a business owner for three years.

What are a few must-have items right now?

Thigh boots , anything with bling, and bright lipstick colors.

As a business owner, what are your top three priorities?

Expanding my business , making sure I send my shipments in a timely manner and making sure my customers are always satisfied.

What makes your business different from your competition?

My business is different from my competitors, because my products are affordable.   No other boutique goes up to a size 15 in shoes and you won’t have to worry about looking like anyone else .

What was it like being a member of VH1 Sorority Sisters?

It was an amazing experience regardless of the controversy.  It taught what I want, what I don’t want and I met some amazing people along the way.

What are your goals as an actress?

My goal as an actress is to be authentic as possible.  What ever role I play I want to lose myself in it .

What is next for you?

I’m working on new projects that I cannot speak on just yet.  I will be doing more fashion shows and expanding Priyanka’s Palace .

What’s one of your proudest moments in your career?

My proudest moment was when my college professor called me and told me he was proud of me .

What’s your favorite item in your wardrobe?

My favorite item is my floor length real fox fur coat.

What was the most memorable gift you’ve ever received?

I received a piano from my late grandmother.  She was a well known gospel musician .

Your favorite vacation spot?

Barbados.

Who in your life do you admire the most?

I come from a line of strong women so I admire my grandmother, my mother , and any strong black woman brave enough to follow her dreams.
