Khristen is from South Carolina and located in Prince George, Virginia. She is a graduate of Claflin university. She has a BS in Biology and now serving this country as an active duty United States Army Soldier. She is a part time Certified Personal Trainer/Nutrition Coach and a Model.
How does it feel to be selected as one of the Abners Angels?
It is an exhilarating experience to selected as one of the Abners Angels. I am super excited and honored to be a part of this experience. This is a wonderful starting point for other potential interviews and opportunities in the modeling industry. Once again, thanks for the opportunity.
How long have you been modeling and what inspired you to become a model?
I have been modeling for a year. I started modeling when I became a certificated personal trainer/fitness coach. I wanted to branch out and try something a little bit more challenging, fierce and fun. My first experience was my fitness photoshoot and it was amazing for it to be my first actual photoshoot. However, I’ve had some exposure to modeling in the past three years and I consider myself a natural.
Do you ever get shy in front of the camera?
I do not get shy in front of the camera. I love my imperfections and accept myself for who I am. I practice taking photos of myself in different poses. I remind myself every time I’m in front of the camera that I am sole focus.
What are your goals as a model?
My goals as a model are to work consistently and have more self – promotion. In the past few months, I have had several different photo shoots with wonderful photographers. In 2019, my goal is to have at least five filled weekends every month. Also, my other goal is to promote myself more via social media and everyday life.
What kind of exercises you do to stay in shape?
I do a variety of exercises to stay in shape such as stretching, leg press, squats, hack squats, split lunges, walking lunges, stiff deadlifts, hamstring curls, donkey kicks, hip thrust, leg extensions, and glute abduction for leg exercises. My arm exercises consist of lateral pull downs, shoulder press, bicep curls, triceps pull downs, pull ups, etc. I do a lot to stay in shape. Although exercising is only 10-20% of staying in shape. It’s what you eat and how much you consume on the day to day basis.
What do you think your best physical feature is?
I think my best physical feature is of course the anatomy of my body. I am 100% natural, I try to be as healthy and fit as I can be. I like to tell people “You are what you eat; you put in what you get out!” This is what I live by and ‘Til this day as a fitness fanatic I have to keep myself up and own it!
How did you become an athlete for BPI Sports?
I became an Athlete for BPI by purchasing their workout supplements, utilizing them for years and posting, tagging, and shouting them out on social media. I had to gain a lot of followers to be able to become an athlete. It was hard but after two years of advertising and using their supplements; I reached out to them and they gave me the opportunity to be one of their athletes. It was one of the best opportunities ever. My code for 20% for BPI sports in “Murda”.
What is it like being a brand ambassador for Handlzgloves?
It is extremely exciting and rewarding to be an ambassador for Handlzgloves. I was given the opportunity to give advice to the owner on their apparel. My code for 15% Handlzglove is “murda18”.
What are your top three healthy habits?
My three top healthy habits are drinking a lot of water, eating 5-6 small healthy meals a day, and exercising at least 5-6 times a week. I am a beast and a Super Health Freak!
What are your hobbies, besides modeling?
I am a natural born dancer and I can dance to Beyoncé all day! I am also starting my own Fitness Apparel line called BodiedbyMurda.
What sports do you play or enjoy watching?
I play softball in which I play for the U.S. Army. I also love to play basketball, I’ve played since I was five years old. I enjoy watching softball, basketball, and surprisingly tennis. I am a huge fan of Serena Williams, so tennis has become one of my new sports I enjoy watching.
What is one thing people would be surprised to know about you?
One thing people would be surprised to know about me is that I hate running long distance. I hate it with a passion. But, I do it because it’s beneficial to the body for great endurance.
What’s one thing that totally relaxes you when you’re stressed?
One thing that totally relaxes me when I’m stressed is going to the gym and crushing my work out! I’m stressed on the daily, so I love taking it out on the weights during my workout in the gym!
