Dream the Impossible is a true story reveals the intimate struggles and unlimited victories accomplished through prayer, faith and higher education. This book unveils tips on how to achieve success through higher education as well as overcoming adversity through Christianity and faith in God. Are you planning to adapt any of your stories to the screen?
I would love to have my first book Dream the Impossible become a movie one day.
What is something memorable you have heard from your readers/fans?
Dream the Impossible: This book was off the charts inspiring. To say this is her first book is mind blowing. My word I want to read more but the book ended. On me I hope she keeps writing this was five stars all the way. Major page turner and Inspiring too say the least. Thank you for your gifts and sharing them with us.
What’s the best way to market your books?
The best way to market your books is word of mouth. Use all of your resources, Instagram and Facebook have been great marketing tools for me. A professional website is a great way to marker your books.
How long on average does it take you to write a book?
It usually takes me about six months to write a book. I love writing! I love how my books, have inspired so many people to never give up.
How did publishing your first book change your process of writing?
I released my first book in 2015. My writing has improved so much from 2015. I sold 100 copies in a year. That’s less than the number of friends I thought supported my dream to be a writer. The extremely unappreciated feeling I went through after the publishing made me realize that if I wanted to be a professional writer, I couldn’t trust anyone else to make it easier. The first and foremost lesson I learned was that the writing was only a small part of a success story.
What was the best money you ever spent as a writer?
Hiring a professional editor. Also, hiring someone to help me market my brand and my books.
What is your favorite childhood book?
My favorite childhood books: The Very Hungry Caterpillar, the rainbow fish, Mercy Mayer books, Stand Tall Molly Lou Melon and Twintuition: Double Vision, by Tia Mowry and Tamera Mowry, and Sounder.
If your life were a movie, what would you call it?
Never Give Up! Born and raised in Freedmen’s Town, one of that Houston, Texas most important African-American historic communities. I was raised in a single-family household and nothing stopped me from obtaining my dreams.
If you could travel through time to visit a special time period or famous person, what or who would it be and why?
I would love to meet Maya Angelou, Oprah Winfrey and Tyler Perry. They never gave up on what they really want to do. The person with big dreams is more powerful than one with all the fact” -Albert Einstein. I grew up watching celebrities Oprah Winfrey and Maya Angelou. I always fell in love with these two ladies, and their stories have always inspired me!
What is your favorite motivational phrase.
My favorite quote is Never Give Up, Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it. With the new day comes new strength and new thoughts, Keep the Faith, Failure will never overtake me if my determination to succeed is strong enough.
What is your favorite movie?
Hidden Figures, Black Panther, Coming to America, The Color Purple, Lean on Me, The Pursuit of Happiness, Poetic Justice, Soul Food and Dream Girls.
What is something you would like people to know about you?
I am an ordinary person with simple tastes but I can appreciate champagne tastes, but not as a lifestyle only as a taste! I love to help others. I display a true sense of support to others when tragedy strikes their lives. I love traveling and I love writing! I love sharing my testimony! Each one of my book is a part of my journey in life. I want people to never give up on their dreams. Keep moving forward. I pray that my books, academic advising, speaking and in helps others to never give up. I want to inspire everyone to reach their dreams. I want to reach the silent voices in the world that are searching for hope.
