Working Woman Wednesday. Interview with CEO & Founder of Tyii’s Trophies, model and makeup artist.

Tell readers about your Tyii’s Trophies business and when did you start it?

Tyii’s Trophies is my cosmetics line that is currently expanding towards a hair and mink lash line. My business was launched in December 2017.

Did you take any specific training to become a makeup artist?

No I’m not a certified makeup artist, but I am a self taught MUA and I started doing makeup about three years ago.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I wanted to start my own business, because I am a business woman, I wanted to be a CEO.  Working for myself then putting my hard work, time and dedication in another company that didn’t see appreciation in my values as well.  I wanted to work for myself, I wanted more out of life then what I had, I wanted to be successful, a successful business owner.

What do you feel separates your work from others?

My hard work, my leadership, and creativity.  My style is very unique from the other competitors product.

What is the makeup trends coming up this Spring/Summer?

I have over 24+ colors of either fantasy collection or from the trophy collection.

How long have you been modeling for and how often do you model?

I’ve been modeling for two years and I’m always shooting at a photoshoot or at a video set.

Are there any modeling goals you feel you haven’t achieved yet?

Yes, I want so much more and inspired to be great! But I trust the process!

What advice would you give to aspiring models?

Do not ever give up, regardless what people might say, regardless of the odds against you.  If you have that hustler’s motivation and walk by faith and not by sight, everything will work out for your favorite.  PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE.

Do you prefer running your business full-time or would you prefer to be a full-time model?

I’m currently doing both, independently.

Is there anything you would like people to know about you?

Everything that I have done for my business and my career was independent done by myself.  I know it’s not much but it’s my legacy that I will continue to build and strive for every day.  Once upon a time I was just a little girl from the south side of Chicago.  I just be making my city proud.
