Watering Hole Media, in partnership with The Root, presents THE KICKBACK, a one-night LIVE taped experience bringing their signature shows, “Tap In,” “Wait A Minute,” and introducing “DJ Choice” on one stage.
Taking place on Friday, September 25th, 7pm at Retreat by The Gathering Spot, The Kickback hosted by Mel Mitchell, is produced to feel less like a traditional taping and more like what its name promises: a kickback.
Doors open at 7 pm and admission includes comedy, music and free food with a cash bar available.

“The Kickback” brings three distinct shows together for one night of unfiltered conversation, culture, comedy and music, all happening live with the cameras rolling. This isn’t an audience that simply watches. The audience is part of the energy, the conversation and the experience.
TAP IN
The Root/Watering Hole Media’s roundtable talk show “Tap In” brings Black men together for candid, revealing and often hilarious conversations about everything from politics and current events to relationships, masculinity, ownership and culture.
For “Tap In,” Jay Hill, Damon Turner, Eagle Witt and Lou Young take their seats at the table for the kind of unfiltered back-and-forth the show was built on. No canned answers. No talking points. No expectation that everyone will agree. The point is the conversation. Past “Tap In” guests have included actor and activist Kendrick Sampson, comedian Roy Wood Jr. and political strategist Joshua Doss.
WAIT A MINUTE
“Wait a Minute” brings Jamila Bell, Ari Cari and Jerrilyn Lake to the stage for the real, funny and sometimes uncomfortable conversations about the things people are thinking but don’t always say out loud.
At “The Kickback,” they’re taking that conversation out of the studio and putting it in front of a live Atlanta audience. You’ll be in the room when it gets real and when it gets funny.
