The Clark Atlanta University Panthers defeated the Morehouse College Maroon Tigers 31-21 in the ATL Labor Day Classic, earning their first win of the season. Clark Atlanta Quarterback Xzavier Jackson led the Panthers’ offense, throwing for 135 yards and two touchdowns. Running Back Dae’Jeaun Dennis carried the ball 18 times for 111 yards, Wide receiver Chry’shawn Sellers had four receptions for 83 yards and two touchdowns. Clark Atlanta also produced one of the biggest plays of the afternoon when running back Trayvon Pinder broke loose for a 94-yard touchdown run on his only carry of the game.

For Morehouse, Quarterback Miles Scott threw for 193 yards and one interception. Running Back Chase DeVaughn rushed 11 times for 109 yards and two touchdowns, while Savion Red added eight carries for 37 yards and a touchdown. Kelan Anderson finished with five carries for 49 yards and a touchdown. Morehouse Wide Receiver Jeremiah Gibson recorded four receptions for 85 yards.
With the victory, Clark Atlanta improves to 1-0 on the season. Morehouse falls to 0-2 and is still searching for its first win of the season.
