Howard University Bisons defeated the Alabama A&M Bulldogs 31-24 in the Cricket MEAC/SWAC Challenge Kickoff, with a late touchdown pass sealing the victory for the Bison. Alabama A&M Quarterback Cornelious Brown IV delivered a strong performance through the air, throwing for 254 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. Brown also contributed 33 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown. Wide Receivers Jarel Williams and Imari Conely each scored a touchdown for the Bulldogs. Alabama A&M’s rushing attack produced 151 yards on 19 carries, providing the Bulldogs with a balanced offensive effort throughout the game.

Howard Quarterback Ja’Shawn Scroggins countered with an impressive passing performance, throwing for 315 yards and three touchdowns. Tight ends Andrew Cooper and Nathanial Clark each found the end zone for the Bisons. Howard struggled to establish a consistent rushing attack, finishing with 114 yards on 40 carries. Despite those struggles on the ground, the Bison found a way to make the biggest play of the game when it mattered most.
With 2:41 remaining in the fourth quarter, Scroggins connected with Wide Receiver Se’Quon Osborne on a 51-yard touchdown pass, giving Howard the go-ahead score and ultimately securing the 31-24 victory. The late touchdown capped a back-and-forth contest and gave Howard a dramatic win in the MEAC/SWAC Challenge Kickoff.
