The life, music and enduring legacy of one of America’s most influential recording artists is headed to the stage as “MARVIN: The Marvin Gaye Musical” launches a major pre-Broadway tour across the United States.

Produced by acclaimed playwright and theater producer Je’Caryous Johnson, the production offers audiences a theatrical look at the man behind some of the most recognizable music of the 20th century. The musical explores Marvin Gaye’s extraordinary rise from his early beginnings to international superstardom, while examining the relationships, family struggles, personal challenges and social issues that helped shape his artistry.

The upcoming tour begins October 10, 2026, in Atlanta, followed by stops in Charlotte, Detroit, Baltimore and Philadelphia. The production then moves west to Los Angeles before continuing to Chicago and Cleveland. The tour resumes in February 2027 with performances scheduled in Washington, D.C. and Houston.

The official production schedule confirms the individual performance dates and venues, including Cobb Energy in Atlanta, Music Hall in Detroit, The Lyric in Baltimore, The Met in Philadelphia, Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center in Los Angeles and additional major venues on the tour.
