The Alphas of Atlanta, Inc, a Metro-Atlanta nonprofit comprised of members from the area graduate chapters, is
hosting their 11th edition of the #AlphaDerbyWeekendTM April 30-May 3, 2026 (presented by Woodford Reserve).
The Kentucky Derby themed event is a destination benefit weekend series designed to support the efforts of the
nonprofit and related entities’ efforts for service and outreach to emerging communities for elementary, middle
and high schools (to date, more than $300,000 is raised to support these causes). With an increasing attendance
each year, including an event record 4,000 attendees in 2023 (exceeding the previous mark of 3,700 in 2018),
another engaging weekend is on the horizon for the first weekend of May (April 30-May 3, 2026).

The weekend lineup includes their golf tournament the morning of May 1, 2026 (Chapel Hills Golf Course in
Douglasville, GA) and later that evening, their kickoff activies ranging from health-fairs/networking events and
their classic hip-hop/90’s r&b themed concerts (which have previously featured icons Doug E. Fresh (2018), Big
Daddy Kane (2019), Chubb Rock (2019), WeRFly (2019), Slick Rick (2022), Crime Mob (2022), an ode to 90’s/early
2000’s Atlanta hip-hop (featuring Young Dro, Fabo, Pastor Troy and Lil’ Scrappy), Bobby V (2024) and Cupid (2025)
among other others. For the kickoff event on May 1, 2026, Platinum R/B recording artist Jon B is the featured
artist via the newly announced Cutwater Concert Series (Guardian Works in Atlanta, GA).
On Saturday, May 2, 2026, the elegance and pageantry of the watch event at Guardian Works (Saturday) is a must-
attend given the viewing of the race, the hat contest and other special guests (as Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens has attended the past two years of the event) as 1/3 of the event patrons travel from outside the State of Georgia.
The Sunday Brunch (May 3, 2026 at the Grand Hyatt-Buckhead) draws the weekend to a close, making it a key
destination benefit event and weekend during the spring and across the country.

Proceeds support the Alphas of Atlanta grant program which provides engagement and outreach opportunities for
Metro-Atlanta nonprofits, which truly expands the adage of hosting a “party with a purpose”. All events are
