Shout Out Sunday. Interview With Owner of Rose Residential Care Home Shronica Holmes.

How did you come up with the name for your company?

Well, Tyler is known for Roses so I wanted an easy Googleable name that people could easily remember, so that is how I came up with the name.

As a business owner, what are your top three priorities?

Quality of service, meeting my financial goals and educating my community.

What is one thing you think customers should know about your residential care home that they may not be aware of?

75% of my team has been with me since I opened up.  That says a lot about the atmosphere that we create for our residents.

How do you avoid burning out as an entrepreneur?

Taking mental time-outs and letting my team know when I need to take a leave.

What do you want your supporters to know about you?

That I lead with passion first and profit was never my biggest reason for starting this business.  I am an introvert at home and an extrovert in business.  The first business that I still have to this day is half of a part-time photographer.  I have been shooting for over 15 years and have been published in magazines.  I bring that passion over to my residential care home by always creating memories and documenting our residents.  When they pass, I gift the family an album of pictures that they took while with us.

Pancakes or Waffles?

Pancakes, but they have to be big and fluffy.

Concert or Broadway Play?

Broadway play because I can see the exit better.

What’s the longest you have ever waited in line for something?

5 hours at K-Mart and that was when Black Friday first became popular. I had just moved into a new apartment and needed my essentials.

Who inspires you daily?

My past inspires me daily.  I grew up being displaced my entire childhood, so to see how far I have come and where I am going inspires me to keep going.  It is because my childhood traumas of not having a mother or father got me to where I am.  I am so determined to never have to experience that for my family or anyone’s family.

What do you love about the state where you live?

That is cheaper than most states and we have seasons.

What’s one thing you must experience at once in life?

Traveling the world and seeing how blessed we are.

If you could change one thing about your upbringing, what would it be?

Nothing at all.  Everything that I experienced I took and made my mission statement for my life.  You don’t have to be rich or smart, just determined.

How can everyone keep in contact with you on social media?
