Who or what inspired you to become an artist…

Hands down, that would have to be Michael Jackson, Prince and Bruno Mars.  There is a charisma through their musicianship that I think is lacking in most of the artists today.

My creative process is like…

A road trip, every single song on this album was the result of me driving across the city of Toronto and playing around with ideas and recording them on a voice recorder.  Basically, I put a melody created by my brilliant producer David Neale on repeat and challenge myself to come up with at least five solid ideas. 

My favorite artist growing up was…

Believe it or not, Elvis Presley.  He was the epitome of swagger and like the artists I mentioned in the previous question.  Spoke to a generation, using his platform to speak about real issues. 

My dream venue to perform at would be…

That’s easy, In Toronto we have the Scotiabank Arena.  It’s kind of symbolic for me, because I always said to myself “If I could one day perform here, I would have made it”.  Toronto is my home city and to see the support from all those who have been since day one, that would be amazing.

My long-term music goal is…

Sustainability.  I think any musician’s goal in life is to take their passion and find a way to live off it.  I haven’t reached that point yet, but I feel with the right people by my side and a strong collection of songs, that goal is achievable.

Fish and Grits or Chicken and Waffles?

Hmm, I don’t believe I’ve ever had grits.  I would have to say chicken and waffles, which I’ve had for brunch at a great restaurant in Toronto called “School”.

Rocky, I think that film has all the answers to life’s questions.

While I’m trying to limit my time on social media, they would have to be Twitter, Instagram and TikTok.

The greatest invention ever created is…

iPhone, how did I ever survive without one, lol.  I can literally shoot, edit and upload content from the palm of my hand.

The #1 thing on my bucket list is…

Write a screenplay and have it directed by a well-known director.  Aside from being a musician, I’ve always wanted to write scripts, cast the actors and be a consultant on set.
