How did you discover your passion for music?

At the age of 9 my mother forced me to play an instrument and I turned out to love it.  My brother and cousins were DJ’s, my brother had his equipment setup in the basement and that’s where the true interest was peaked.

What’s an artist you would like to work with?

If we are talking classic hip hop artist, it would be Rakim or Nas.  If we are talking about today’s artist, it would be H.E.R. or J. Cole.

What is one mistake you see a lot of up and coming DJs making?

They don’t practice and work on their craft to watch the screen to DJ instead of listening to the music and feeling their way through the transitions.

What makes your sound different than other DJ’s?

I build a vibe and stick to it, I don’t let anyone come up to me and throw it off.  Every party I do, I take people on a ride.  During that ride I bring back dope memories, create new connections and have fun.  By the time the party is over, it’s like I need to do this again!!

Any upcoming projects coming up that you would like to share with readers?

I have a few things I’m working on business wise and musically.  I’m looking forward to working with my bro DJ Uneek who produced Ice Cream Dream by Dream Doll and French Montana. We are going to make a few dope joints that’s all I can say.

What’s your favorite summer drink?

I’m a simple man, Casamigos and Pineapple Juice.

What do you have that you cannot live without?

My son, I had to focus, get serious about my life and make it better so he could be taken care of.  He’s the biggest inspiration to my grind.

Where’s the coolest place you’ve ever been/traveled to?

It’s a tossup between South Africa and Dubai. 

If you could eliminate one thing from your life today, what would it be?

Nothing, for every negative there is a positive.  Therefore, that brings balance to my life.

What’s one of your favorite family traditions?

The family BBQ is always the best.  Getting to see extended family and of course the arguments over the domino games always breaks out.

What three things are you most proud of in your life to date?

My son how he doesn’t follow the crowd and continues to stay grounded.  My career, how I went from just being an opening club DJ to touring the world and being on SiriusXM.
