Working Woman Wednesday. Interview With Chef Antwine Antoinette.

What was your experience like on The Great American Baking Show Season 3 and would you recommend any chefs to go on there?

I enjoyed my experience on the show.  It opened my eyes to a world of baking that I did not know existed.  I would recommend the show or any culinary show to any chef.  It gives you the opportunity to learn from other chefs and a panel of experts.

As a chef, what are your top three priorities?

My top three priorities are managing my time, prepping in the kitchen and testing flavor profiles.  In the kitchen it is crucial to make sure you have your task prioritized and timing is everything.  Prepping is another priority as a chef, when you are in a fast-paced kitchen there is no time to run around and find ingredients.  Having everything prepped and ready to go, will help with time management and will help with the outcome of the finished product.  My third priority as a chef is making sure my flavor profiles are spot on.  Let’s face it, no one wants bland boring food.

What’s your favorite social media platform for your brand?

Instagram.

Describe your food in three words?

Flavor is everything.

What’s the most valuable lesson you learned in your chef career?

The most valuable lesson is to cook from your heart.  It’s the one ingredient people cannot duplicate.

If you could only eat one food, what would it be?

It would be seafood.

If you could travel back in time, what year would you choose?

It would be 2016.  It’s the year my dad passed and the year I made my debut on The Great American Baking Show.

What’s your favorite romantic restaurant?

I really don’t have one, long as the food is good that’s all that matters.

If you could live anywhere, where would it be?

It would be in Europe.  It was the place where food came alive for me.

What’s the best thing ever invented?

The best think ever invented was the stand mixer.  I can’t imagine having to mix everything by hand, like they had to do back in the day.

What is something about life that people don’t appreciate as much as they should?

Time, it is precious and it’s the most expensive currency.  Once it is gone you can never get it back.

If God grants you three wishes, what would you ask for?

The ability to leave a legacy that is both monetary and humanitarian for my daughters, to have my own inspirational show on a major network and the last wish would be to kiss my father one last time and say goodbye.

How can everyone keep in contact with you on social media?

I am Antwine Antoinette on all social media platforms @antwineantoinette.
