What inspired you to start your own business?

I have always been into fashion and retail, so it just kind of made sense to me. 

What are some of your goals for the future Rules of Fashion?

Future goals are just to keep building my brand.  I would like to be thought of right up there with Fashion Nova, Forever 21 or Rainbow.

What role do you think social media plays in hair today?

Social Media plays a big role in fashion today, as everyone is on social media watching and wanting what everyone else has.

As a business owner, what are your top three priorities?

My top three priorities are providing fashionable quality pieces that can be worn over and over again.  Building brand awareness, because if you don’t know about Rules of Fashion you can’t shop Rules of Fashion.  Building lasting customer rapport.

What advice would you give to anyone who is thinking of owning their own business?

Is to research, research and research.  Do not rely on others to give you the steps, you must do the work and just do it.  Nothing beats a failure but a try.

What are you interested in that most people are not?

I don’t know that most people are not interested in it, but I love to craft.  I’ll try anything artsy, Pinterest is my favorite!!

Have you ever experienced a reality check that changed you?

Would be death, I lost my brother in March of 2012 and my grandfather in May of 2012.  I was about 26 years old, I had to move back to my hometown of Mississippi from Georgia and this is when I initially started selling fashion.

If you could go back and change one decision what would it be?

It would be staying consistent with my dream and believing in myself back in 2012 when I started.

If you could only eat three foods the rest of your life, what would they be?

Pizza, catfish and rice.

Name one interesting talent you have or something we don’t know about you?

I love to read.  I don’t get to do it as much, but I love to just be in a quiet space and read.
