Shout Out Sunday. 10 Questions With Singer/Songwriter/Producer James Qupid.

I would describe my musical style as…

Smooth, fun and upbeat and heavily influenced by r&b and hip-hop, some may say urban pop.

My creative process is like…

Very melody driven, so most of my songs start with me humming or playing my keyboard.  I don’t think I have ever really started with words.  It depends on the mood that I have and if have something heavy to say.  Once I have a dope melody, that’s it.  I’ll cook up the beat and everything else falls right in place after.

Artist I would like to perform with or do a duet with…

T-Pain or Pharrell.  Those two guys are just legendary to me.

My goal I hope to accomplish this year…

To build a household name.  I truly believe that my gift of music will be a stepping stone into huge arenas and create a legacy of wealth for me and my family this year.

My dream venue to perform at would be…

Madison Square Garden is my dream venue “That’s going to be epic,”.

My favorite album is…

Rappa Ternt Sanga by T-Pain.

A random hobby I always wanted to try but never have is…

Abstract painting.

My favorite childhood memory is…

Going to my first Miami Heat game.  I was a huge fan, that night they were facing the 76ers and I was a bigger Allen Iverson fan.  I was overjoyed to see Allen Iverson play in person, that was a great experience.

My perfect date would be…

Sightseeing, dinner and a movie.

The person I admire the most is…

My older cousin, Jeff Moii.  He inspired me to take my music to another level and I appreciate him a thousand percent for that.
