Atlanta Hawks rookie forward Jalen Johnson earned All-Summer League First Team honors as selected by a panel of media at the MGM Resorts NBA Summer League, it was announced today by NBA PR.
Johnson, the 20th overall selection in the 2021 NBA Draft, saw action in four of Atlanta’s five contests in Las Vegas and posted team-high averages of 19.0 points, 9.5 rebounds and 1.3 blocks on .574 FG% in 28.3 minutes per game. The six-foot-nine-inch Milwaukee native scored 20-or-more points twice and pulled down at least 10 rebounds in three of his four appearances.

The 19-year-old Duke product bookended his four-game run with a pair of standout performances – he notched 20 points (8-12 FGs, 1-2 3FGs), 10 boards, one steal and a blocked shot in 25 minutes during the opening game against Boston on Aug. 8; six days later, he compiled a personal Summer League-high 25 points (9-15 FGs, 3-6 3FGs, 4-4 FTs), seven boards, three assists, two steals and a block in 29 minutes of the Hawks’ 94-90 victory over Miami.
Johnson was joined on the First Team by Sacramento’s Davion Mitchell, New Orleans’ Trey Murphy III, Boston’s Payton Pritchard, Phoenix’s Jalen Smith, Brooklyn’s Cam Thomas and New York’s Obi Toppin.
