Tell readers about your Rhythm Brewing Co and when did you start it?
Rhythm Brewing Company is a beer brand that specializes in unfiltered lagers.
Our mission is to produce the finest quality beers that will inspire you to find
your “Rhythm in Life.” Our Rhythm recipes combine uniquely paired hops and
malts, bringing new flavor to America’s oldest (classic) style of beer, lagers.
Our team is dedicated to building stronger communities by providing tangible
economic growth strategies. The rhythm brand is fun, energetic and empowering.
This is not just a beverage it’s a movement. Rhythm Brewing Co. was incorporated
in 2017 and launched in 2018. Our market and industry research started three years
prior to launch. The exciting journey began and we set out to find our rhythm in the
industry.
What inspired you to start your own brewery?
My grandmothers inspired me to start my own beer brand. In the 1970’s, they sipped
occasionally on Miller Highlife lager beer. Also, the lack of women and people of
color in this industry was a sure motivator in my decision to become a brewer.
Another inspiration came while on a trip to Cape Cod. I attended a Beer Festival and
noticed there were not a lot of styles of beer my palate was used to, i.e. IPA’s, stouts
and sours. It was there I had my “ah-ha” moment. It was apparent there was a need
for more diversity, equity and Inclusion in the beer industry.
As a business owner, what are your top three priorities?
Make the best quality beers that women and men can enjoy and maintain consistency
with our unique flavors all while scaling up. Align our brand to be the first black
nationally distributed beer brand to reach more consumers so, they can broaden their
palates. Employ people in the community and assure training for positions in our
company.
What is the hardest part about growing your business?
The hardest part about growing our business is navigating through the growth spurts.
We take these teachable moments to learn and foster growth.

What do you want your supporters to know about you?
That we appreciate them wholeheartedly for their support and joining us on our
“RHYTHM” journey!
What movie taught you the biggest life lesson?
The movie “The Pursuit of Happyness” taught me the biggest lessons of life.
Persistence and perseverance was the theme throughout this film. It touched me in a
way that has inspired me to inspire others.
What is the best TV sitcom of all time?
I believe Good Times was the best TV sitcom. It showed hard working families going
through various adversities of life. Each episode showed me that the love of family
plus hard work and faith will build resilience and ultimately persevere.

What are some positive things that have emerged in your life during the pandemic?
The positive that has emerged from the pandemic has been learning how to pivot. We
have learned that chaos breeds opportunity and we witnessed that during these
trying times. These ever-changing times opened up for new market engagement in
our industry and we were able to leverage momentum almost immediately. The
beverage industry has been essential throughout the pandemic, Rhythm had to shift
our focus to online marketing and keeping up with consumers. Our brand was able
to get the attention of people from around the country that we may not have had
the opportunity to connect with pre-pandemic.
What famous person in history would you love to meet?
I would love to meet President Barack Obama. He is the “first of the first”, like I am
first of the first. First black woman Brew master and beer brand owner! President
Obama enjoys beer too, so we can have a great sit down to discuss what it was really
like to be the FIRST BLACK PRESIDENT.
Have you passed up any chances that you now regret and if so what was it?
Everything that happens has been God’s will. I don’t call them missed opportunities,
I call them “Not Yet” moments.
