Working Woman Wednesday. Interview With Author Chasity N. Douyon.

Tell readers about your new book Be You Beyoutiful: 3 Minute Devotions 31 Day Devotional for Teen Girls?

My book is a devotional for teen girls.  It is a 31-day devotional with a scripture, a story shared from my life experiences and then two reflection questions.  It talks about things that teens struggle with today such as friendships, stress and purpose.  I wrote this book, because I have always loved working with teens and feel that society tends to write them off as bad or lazy.  But the generation coming up is so important and I want to speak life over them and help them.

Give us an interesting fun fact about your book?

I actually wrote this book while I was working on my second master’s degree.  I currently attend the University of Alabama majoring in Communication Studies with a concentration in Organizational Leadership.

What do you hope readers will take away from this story?

I hope it will be a blessing to readers and that it cause them to grow in their relationship with God or develop a new relationship with God.

What part of writing do you personally find most satisfying and most challenging?

Most satisfying I would say would be reading back over a page and feeling like I was able to really articulate what I wanted to say to readers.  Most challenging would be editing and revisions.

As a author, what are your top three priorities?

My top priority is to produce content that will glorify God.  My second priority is to connect with my readers.  My third priority is to inspire other people who may want to write a book.

Personal chef or personal fitness trainer?

Personal chef.  I don’t cook a whole lot, lol.

Would you rather hike a mountain or a lay on the beach?

Hike a mountain, I love the mountains in Tennessee!

What brand are you loyal to no matter what?

Barq’s Root Beer.  The rest are not the same at all!

If you weren’t afraid of failing, what would you do right now?

Become a life coach.

What skill would you want to learn and master if you had the opportunity?

Photography.  I enjoy taking photos and dabbled in having a photography business.  Never really mastered it, but I enjoy making things my own.
