How does it feel to be selected as one of the Abners Angels?
Great! I feel very honored, actually. This is my first interview via Huntsville and I’m so excited!
Tell us how you were “discovered” and how your modeling career all started?
Instagram has definitely been a big stepping stone in my career. I first started modeling at my undergraduate (Dillard University) as I would walk in fashion shows. Those opportunities progressed into designers wanting to feature me on their sites. I joined a New Orleans modeling/networking group. Since I’ve always been in school, each school would showcase me on their pamphlets. I did a few videos for rappers, then I started reaching out to photographers to develop my own content. I guess you can say I’m multifaceted, lol.
What physical features do you get the most compliments on?
My dimples has to be the top compliment, lol. Next would be my natural hair and legs (I’m 5’11).
Do you get to travel a lot for your work? If so what’s your favorite city that you have visited?
I’m starting to travel more and network in other places. I began my YouTube channel, which pushes me to vlog different things such as my traveling, food, workouts, etc. My favorite city would have to be my city, New Orleans. As cliché as is it, the culture and essence of New Orleans is top tier.
What kind of exercises you do to stay in shape?
My boyfriend is a trainer and has me doing every complex workout you can think of. I give him crap every workout, lol.
What are your modeling goals for 2020?
My modeling goals are to keep going, no matter how big or small. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed and discouraged, when on social media and comparing your progress to others. I’ve made weekly goals to keep my YouTube content and social media traffic constantly flowing.
What is your favorite way to spend a weekend?
Drinking and having fun, lol. I’m a typical girl. I love partying, chilling inside, traveling, paintballing, yoga, movies, go karts, anything.
What website died, that you miss the most?
A website that died that I missed the most is Tumblr. It was creative, crazy, you can upload music, art, sounds, movies, anything.
What’s the best mistake you ever made?
Best mistake I’ve ever made? Choosing not to listen to people around me and going with my instincts. It’s easy for people to tell you “you shouldn’t do this” or “you can’t do that”. Yeah, maybe I shouldn’t do it, but it’s something I want to do. Most people tell you that you can’t do something, because THEY can’t do it.
If you could change anything about the way you were raised, what would it be?
I wouldn’t change anything. My mom always supported anything I did and I always knew consequences of any decision I made. It made me open minded to everything around me and to explore what life is about. We also traveled a lot and never stood in one place.
What was your hometown like and how much did where you grew up shape you?
New Orleans was wild (lol), but fun none the less. I thank God everyday that I was open to so many experiences good and bad at such a young age. It helped me to never judge those around, never give up on yourself and always enjoy life. New Orleans can be so fast sometimes and you can get caught up so quick.
How can everyone keep in contact with you on social media?
