What inspired you to start making basketball training videos?

Kids would ask me all the time, coach can you help me get better at basketball or what drills can I do? So, I started posting on YouTube so I could direct them to some good videos

Any advice for a student athlete trying to earn a scholarship to a D1 school?

Work everyday on your craft, because when you are not working someone else is and spots are limited.  Be patient it’s a marathon.  Most kids don’t get offers until their junior or senior year.

What are three things that your previous experience in coaching have taught you?

Never take anything for granted, things are not always the way they seem.  That goes for on the court and off the court.  Things can be going a certain way and change in an instant.  You have to stay aware and alert.

What role do you think social media plays in basketball today?

Nowadays social media plays a HUGE role.  In some cases it actually helps kids get scholarships.  Everything is either tweeted, caught on camera or posted on Instagram.

What are your best and worst memories in coaching?

The best memories are always the ones that My team win!! Don’t really have any worst memories, because I look at every single experience as something I can learn from.

What is one thing people would be surprised to know about you?

People would probably be surprised to know that I’m 29 with five children .

Who, besides your parents, had the biggest impact on your life?

My wife definitely has changed my life and made me a better person.  My mentor Jeff Taylor has had a huge impact on my life and put me in better situations on numerous occasions.  He actually gave me my first real coaching job.
