Abners Angels Presents Interview With Model “Anisa Alexis”

Anisa is a model from Detroit, Michigan.  She has been modeling for five years now.  She likes working out and staying consistent with her work.  She is the owner of Karen E. Swim.

How does it feel to be selected as one of the Abners Angels?

It feels pretty good to be recognized.  So, to be selected as an Angel is pretty cool!

What are your modeling goals for 2019?

This year is a little different, because I want to be able to test my versatility.  I enjoy what I do, I just want to be able to see how far I can really take it along with experiencing different genres of modeling.  I want to be able to step outside my comfort zone.

What physical features do you get the most compliments on?

Ummm…I would say either my eyes or my smile.

What are some of the perks working as a model?

I get to meet new people.  Which is always a plus for me.  I enjoy meeting new people and helping their vision come to life, it’s an amazing feeling.

What is one model/photographer you would love to work with?

There is sooooo much talent out there, that’s what makes this question so hard, lol.  I definitely would love to work with Facet and 20/20 Photography (via Instagram), because I think their work is amazing but they also are pretty big influencers.  As far as models I would want to test my versatility and learn things from Winnie Harlow.  I think she’s stunning.

Tell everyone about your Karen E Swim and what inspired you to start it?

I named it after my grandmother, because that’s where everything started for me.  She taught me to always be myself and to never compromise.  She was effortless and fierce.  I want women to feel like that.  Not compromise who they are and love themselves unapologetically in the skin they’re in.  I thank God I listened to my heart and didn’t look back, because girls love it!

What’s the most embarrassing thing that’s ever happened to you?

I used to work at Footlocker back in the day and it was a pretty fast pace day.  I just remember moving so fast I ended up ripping my work pants at work, split down the middle, lol.  It was so embarrassing, because I didn’t even notice, my co-worker had to tell me.  Luckily since I worked in the mall I could run over to another store and buy new work pants for the day.  It was crazy that day, totally embarrassing, lmao.

What’s the craziest thing a guy has ever done to get your attention?

A lot of weird things go down, lmao, makes me question people’s character.  I will ALWAYS find it crazy when a married man goes out of his way to get my attention. That’s crazy to me period.  I will say the craziest thing was when a guy sent his girlfriend over to me in the club to talk to me for him, not “them” but him.  Long story, but mad wild, lol.

What is one thing you absolutely won’t compromise or sacrifice for a relationship?

I won’t compromise my career, just because that’s where my mind is at.  Nor would I sacrifice losing my family for a relationship.

What’s something you’ve always wanted to try?

Definitely indoor skydiving.  Maybe one day I could work up the courage to do skydiving outdoors, but for now baby steps, lol.

If you could travel anywhere, where would you go and why?

I always said I wanted to go to Thailand or Barcelona.  I always found those places the most beautiful.  I definitely want to live and experience new things.

Which insecurity would shock people if they knew about it?

I actually have a lot of insecurities, but I’m working on loving myself more.  I can’t tell you all of them cause we’d be here all day.  I find a new issue everyday to be honest. Things I wish I could change.  I need to learn to accept who I am, I’m still a work in progress.  My swimwear is dedicated not only to my grandmother but to the message she always wanted me to grasp.  Which is unapologetic self love, and I figured I’d spread that message while trying myself.  Everyone needs a support system.

How can everyone keep in contact with you on social media?

You could find me via Instagram @anisaalexis_ and @karene.swim.
