How would you describe your musical style?
Different more then anything. I try to switch up my style and experiment with different flows to make it more fun. I don’t think I rap like a lot of the other rappers in my class. I rap with a lot of emotion with a classic hip hop feel.
In what ways has your new music changed from when you first started?
I’m a lot more comfortable recording more then anything. The new music is much more vulnerable. It’s very personal. I want to tell my story, open up more about how I really feel about my life and the things that I go through and think about.
What in your opinion is the biggest barrier an artist like yourself, has to face and overcome, to gain any commercial success?
I have to worry about who supports me more then anything and focus on my core. Continue to grow and hope that my true supporters will help spread awareness on who I am. I want to be global, I cant be in Norfolk my whole life. Knowing what I want helps me keep going with this everyday. I know my time coming.
What hip-hop albums did you grow up listening to?
Jadakiss – Kiss The Game Goodbye. Mase – Harlem World. Jay-Z – In My Lifetime Vol. 1.
Nas – Illmatic. They all played a major role in my life growing up. They all shaped my views on hip hop and help me become a better rapper. Classic and timeless material that I can listen to today and still have the same feeling every song.
Any upcoming projects coming up that you would like to share with everyone?
Short Summer EP drops April 25th. I’m excited, this is definitely some of my best material for sure.
What’s something you were really stressed about, it turned out to be no big deal?
Umm man, lol. I don’t know man, what I can say is that it happens a lot with me. I’m definitely a thinker and stand firm in my beliefs. I have definitely been in situations that turned out to not be a bad deal for sure.
The song that gets the most play on your iTunes playlist?
Right now, Lucky Daye – Roll Some Mo. Sade – Kiss Of Life. SWV – Anything. I’ve been playing these songs everyday, all day. Good music for sure.
What was the biggest let down of your life?
Love and my younger brother going to jail. My brother is dopest rapper I know man. When he come home, its gonna be crazy.
What’s something everyone should experience at least once in their life?
I don’t know man, that’s a good question. I need to get out more, lol. Real love, Florida and me perform, lmao.
What do you want to be remembered for?
Doing the right thing, period.
