Abners Angels Presents Interview With Model “Megan Bad”

Megan is originally from Branford, Connecticut.  She started modeling in May of 2018 and has received tons of recognition in a short period of time.  She likes art, music and learning about historical things.

How does it feel to be selected as one of the Abners Angels?

It’s definitely an honor anytime someone recognizes or acknowledges me.  I’m always grateful for that, I definitely appreciate you reaching out to me.

How long have you been modeling for and what inspired you to become a model?

The crazy part about all of this is that I have no idea what I am doing with this! A friend of mine (Ray) is a stylist and coordinator who actually put together the first shoot with Alexander Guzman.  Who I’ve been shooting all my photos with used to always tell me that I needed to put myself out there more that I have “it”.  I just basically needed to be more confident, go for it and I did.  That was this year that I finally gave in to him and I officially started this May 2018 I’m very happy I did it! I just started taking pictures, they just keep coming out better and better.  I had no idea they would look this good honestly.

What is your most memorable modeling moment?

In the short period of time I’ve been doing this, my most memorable moment would be when I got my pictures back from my first shoot.  It was almost like I was seeing myself for the first time.  I looked at the pictures and I was just like wow, I’m really beautiful.  I can’t believe after all the times I’ve had to look in a mirror, I’ve never noticed just how beautiful I was.

How do you deal with insecurities?

This may sound cliché, but I honestly pray away my insecurities and the ones I can’t pray away I just learn to accept them.  You have to really embrace your look, because how you feel about yourself others will reciprocate that same energy.  Some may not, but it’s not their job to like you it’s your job to like you.

What are some of the biggest challenges you have faced?

Honestly just learning to accept myself and love myself more was definitely a challenge for me.  Just opening up, not hiding anymore and building my confidence without being worried about the opinion of others which has kept me quiet for so long.  I can honestly say in my earlier years, people have been very nasty and very mean and it can change you as a person.  It can also silence you, because you just want to stay out the way.

What is one person you would love to work with?

There are a few photographers I’d love to take my pictures which you will soon see!

How would you describe your personality? How would other people describe your personality, the same or different?

My personality is a hard exterior and a soft interior I definitely built a lot of tough skin over the years.  Definitely felt the need to protect who I really am, very few people know who Megan really is.  The world that I live in with my job I just really feel I can’t be myself, because it’s not a place to be myself.  The people who really know me would say I’m honest, I’m a loyal friend, I give great advice, I’m a realist, I’m blunt, I’m very personable and very smart.  I’m also a cry baby, I’m very sensitive, but I also know how to keep going.  I’m a very strong person, non judgmental and funny.

What is one thing people would be surprised to know about you?

That I can sing and I love to but I get nervous in front of people, but I’m currently working on that.

Who makes your favorite jeans?

I don’t have a favorite actually, I love many brands and designers.

If you got stuck in the elevator and was forced to listen to only one song, which would it be?

Probably something by Kirk Franklin, because I am going to be having a panic attack I’ll need God in there with me.

What is the most embarrassing that happened to you in school?

I went to Walsh intermediate in Branford, Connecticut, they have very tall stairs and I fell down the whole flight on the last day of school before summer vacation.

What should every woman try at least once in her life?

To live, to learn, to enjoy your own company and it’ll be something that will stick with you for life.   Once you learn to enjoy it and it’s good therapy for many reasons.

How can everyone keep in contact with you on social media?

You can all follow me  @_meganbad_ on Instagram.
