When did you first realize you wanted to pursue a career as a designer?

Well, Fashionn Junkiee is a mother/daughter design team.  However my mom was sewing before me and she wanted me to sew so bad.  I kept saying nah (no lol), until I went to a fashion show! It inspired me to learn at least and from there Fashionn Junkiee was born!

What role do you think social media plays in fashion today?

Hmm, I think fashion plays a huge role in social media as a outlet for people to express their sense of fashion! Some people care what others think but it definitely gives people a platform to be themselves.

What are a few must-have items right now?

Must have items “for me” is always classic items.  Even though I can make my own clothes I love clothes from Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, Levi’s, etc.

What is unique about your business?

Fashionn Junkiee is very unique, because people would be very surprised if they knew what we make the very pieces they love from.  Sometimes I can take a whole vintage jacket apart, make a couture piece and you will never know.  I think our items are just different.  We are tapping into a variety of people who feel like when they wear our pieces they feel like they are being who they are.

How would you describe your personal style?

My personal style is nerdy, tomboyish, but classy with a bit of sexy! Lol, I know that sounds crazy, but I would only understand.  Only because I would wear a cute lace leotard and cut jeans with some Oxfords.  I might even slap a tie around my neck to make it funky, that’s what I think of my style.

What is your biggest fashion pet peeve?

My biggest fashion pet peeve is typical styles to dress and I hate when people wear bras with halter tops, lol.

What should every woman try at least once in her life?

I think a woman should try a full makeover once in their life and learn/live from it.

What’s one thing that defines who you are?

One thing that defines who I am is working hard to get things done no matter what.

What is one thing people would be surprised to know about you?

I think people would be very surprised by my history, all I’ve done and experienced to be where I am at today! Book coming soon.
