South Carolina State Defeats Prairie View A&M 40-38 in the Celebration Bowl After Being Down 21-0 at Halftime

It took South Carolina State four overtimes to defeat Prairie View A&M 40-38 in the Celebration Bowl. The Panthers started the game hot leading 21-0 at halftime. The Bulldogs scored 21 unanswered points in the 3rd quarter and tied the game 21-21. The Panthers went up 28-21 and the Bulldogs scored 14 points in the 4th quarter. They tied the game 35-35 with 1:54 left in the game.

Quarterback Ryan Stubblefield threw for 234 yards, two touchdowns, one interception and had one rushing touchdown. Wide Receiver Jordan Smith led the Bulldogs with 28 yards rushing. Him and Running Back Tyler had one rushing touchdown for the Bulldogs. Smith led the Bulldogs with 9 catches for 152 yards and 2 touchdowns. Smith caught the game winning two-point pass to end the game.

Quarterback Cameron Peters threw for 412 yards, four touchdowns and had one rushing touchdown. Peters also led the Panthers with 35 yards rushing. Wide Receiver Andre Dennis had 7 catches for 131 yards and one touchdown. Wide Receiver Jyzaiah Rockwell had 6 catches for 77 yards and one touchdown. South Carolina State redeemed themselves after losing last year to Jackson State 28-7 in the Celebration Bowl.
