Working Woman Wednesday. 10 Questions With Actress Madrianna Allen.

Who or what inspired you to become an actress…

My junior high school guidance counselor Mr. Grant. He saw my talent, my gift before I did, he believed in me and that I could become an actress.

The most challenging aspect of being an actress is…

The auditioning process as whole which includes the audition itself, the emotional toll of facing frequent rejections and not taking it personally. Realizing it’s all a part of the business, the pressure of auditions and trying to convince casting directors that you’re the best one for the role.

The first job I ever booked as an actress was…

Was for a background role in the movie 21 Grams, starring Benicio del Toro and Sean Penn.

The advice I have for kids who want to be actors/actresses is…

Get into classes and training so they can truly learn the craft of acting. Be prepared not to take rejection personally if they aren’t chosen for a role they audition for.

My goal I hope to accomplish this year…

I hope to find an agent and secure agent representation. I have been blessed to be able to book acting roles on my own without representation. I feel like it’s time to secure representation to assist me with going to the next level in my acting career and booking roles on larger platforms.

The greatest invention ever created is…

Modern technology because it allows us easier access to information, improved communication and helps us to stay aware of current events.

I spend way too much money on…

Electronics. I absolutely love all things electronic, especially Apple products.

My idea of a perfect day would be…

To spend the entire day talking, laughing and loving on my mother who departed this life way to soon. As she embraces me in her loving arms, letting me know that no matter what I face or encounter in life on this side that God is with me. That no one or nothing can be against me and that everything is going to be alright, because her and God are always with me.

The person I admire the most is…

My maternal grandmother, because she exuded strength, resilience, compassion, integrity and she was tenacious in the face of adversity. She made me feel, believe I could be, do anything and to keep God first in all that I do.

My life changed for the better when…

When I realized that both faith and fear demand that I believe in something I can’t see, but I get to choose which one I believe and I chose faith.
