The 2025 NFL Draft ended last weekend after three days of TV coverage. Quarterback Cam Ward was selected as the number one overall pick by the Tennessee Titans. This draft will always be known as the draft that QB Shedeur Sanders fell to the fifth round. These are my top five players in my opinion who have the best chance to win the 2025 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year.

Drafted second overall, Hunter is poised to make an immediate impact on the Jaguars’ offense, providing Trevor Lawrence with a dynamic and versatile weapon. Lawrence hasn’t really had that true Wide Receiver breakout weapon, Hunter could be that guy from day one. Hunter’s ability to contribute from day one is bolstered by his college accolades, including winning the Heisman Trophy, Chuck Bednarik Award and Fred Biletnikoff Award in 2024. These honors reflect his exceptional talent and readiness to transition to the NFL. ​Hunter’s proven ability to perform under pressure, he is well-positioned to make a significant impact in his rookie season. If he continues to build chemistry with Trevor Lawrence and capitalizes on his opportunities, Hunter could indeed emerge as the frontrunner for Offensive Rookie of the Year.

RJ Harvey’s selection by the Denver Broncos in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft positions him as a strong candidate to become the team’s starting running back. Harvey concluded his college career with over 3,700 rushing yards and 43 total touchdowns, including 22 rushing touchdowns in his final season. His consistent performance in the Big 12 demonstrates his capability to handle a significant workload. His agility, vision, and ability to break tackles make him a dynamic threat in both the running and passing games. Given his collegiate success and the Broncos’ investment in him, RJ Harvey is well-positioned to make an immediate impact as Denver’s starting running back in the 2025 NFL season.

Ashton Jeanty was selected by the Las Vegas Raiders with the 6th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. This marks one of the highest selections ever for a running back and underscores the Raiders’ commitment to revitalizing their ground game. In 2024, Jeanty amassed 2,601 rushing yards and 29 touchdowns, leading the nation in both categories. He was a unanimous All-American and finished as the Heisman Trophy runner-up. The Raiders ranked last in the NFL in rushing yards per game in 2024, averaging only 79.8. Jeanty’s dynamic skill set, combining speed, power, elusiveness and vision. Makes him an ideal candidate to transform their running game. Given his college success and the Raiders’ investment in him, Jeanty could emerge as a leading candidate for Offensive Rookie of the Year honors.

Tetairoa McMillan was selected by the Carolina Panthers with the 8th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, marking the highest selection for a wide receiver in franchise history. McMillan concluded his collegiate career at Arizona with 3,423 receiving yards, setting a school record. In 2024, he recorded 84 receptions for 1,319 yards and eight touchdowns, earning First-Team AP All-American honors. Standing at 6’4″ and weighing 219 pounds, McMillan possesses the size and athleticism to excel in the NFL. His fluidity and short-area quickness make him a formidable presence in run-after-catch situations. McMillan’s combination of elite college production, physical attributes, and fit within the Panthers’ offensive scheme makes him a compelling choice to be a standout in the upcoming NFL season.

TreVeyon Henderson was selected by the New England Patriots with the 38th overall pick in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft. This selection underscores the Patriots’ commitment to enhancing their backfield with a dynamic and versatile running back. During his tenure at Ohio State, Henderson amassed over 3,700 rushing yards, 850 receiving yards, and 48 total touchdowns.
