Jackson State Defeats South Carolina State 28-7 in the Celebration Bowl

Jackson State University Tigers defeated the South Carolina State Bulldogs 28-7 to win their first ever Celebration Bowl.  Jackson State Quarterback Jacobian Morgan won Offensive MVP and Defensive Lineman Jeremiah Williams won the Defensive MVP.  After a scoreless first quarter, the Tigers scored 14 points in the second quarter. 

Morgan threw for 233 yards, 2 touchdowns and 1 interception.  Jackson State Running Back Irv Mulligan had 25 carries for 69 yards and 2 rushing touchdowns. Jackson State Wide Receivers Isaiah Spencer had 3 catches for 123 yards and Joanes Fortilien had 7 catches for 55 yards and 2 touchdowns.  Jackson State Cornerbacks Anthony Petty and Shamar Hawkins each had an interception.

South Carolina State Quarterbacks Eric Phoenix threw for 143 yards, 1 interception and had one rushing touchdown and backup Ryan Stubblefield threw for 5 yards and 1 interception.  Phoenix led South Carolina State with 17 yards and Running Back Kazarius Adams rushed for 16 yards.  South Carolina State Wide Receivers Nigel Johnson had 1 catch for 64 yards and Caden High had 4 catches for 39 yards.

Jackson State dominated on both sides of the ball, had 385 total yards compared to South Carolina State 178 total yards.  The Tigers had 152 rushing yards and the Bulldogs only rushed for 30 yards.  Jackson State almost had more rushing yards than South Carolina State total yards.  Jackson State finishes the season on a 10-game winning streak and the best HBCU team in the nation.
