FAMU Defeats Alabama State at Their Homecoming 28-13

Florida A&M scored 21 points in the second half and spoiled Alabama State homecoming with a 28-13 victory.  Quarterback Daniel Richardson threw for 196 yards, 3 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. Wide Receiver A’Ceon Cobb caught the first touchdown of the game, caught a third quarter touchdown that put the Rattlers up 14-7 and they never lost the lead after that. Cobb led the Rattlers with three catches for a team-high 49 yards, 2 touchdowns and Wide Receiver Goldie Lawrence had his first career catch and first career touchdown.

Florida A&M defense only allowed 67 passing yards from Alabama State Quarterback Kareem Keye.  Keye and backup Quarterback Zach Sims each threw for one interception.  Alabama State Running Back Jamarie Hostzclaw had 20 carries for 138 yards. Freshman Running Back scored his first career touchdown and Alabama State only touchdown of the game. Alabama State rushed for 211 yards and only completed four passes, which weren’t enough to overcome the Rattlers.
