Quarterback Daniel Richardson threw for 286 yards and three touchdowns to lead Florida A&M to 24-23 victory Norfolk State. The Rattlers scored 17 unanswered points after being down 14-0 in the 1st quarter. The Rattlers took a 17-14 lead in the 3rd quarter when Richardson threw a 55-yard touchdown pass to Wide Receiver Jamari Gassett. Gassett led the Rattlers with 8 catches for 110 yards and 2 touchdowns. Gassett had a breakout game for the Rattlers, he had 295 yards receiving and 3 touchdowns last season for the Rattlers.

Quarterback Jalen Daniels threw for 142 yards and no touchdowns for the Spartans. Spartans Running Back had 14 carries for 146 yards and 2 touchdowns. Jacquez Jones led the Spartans with 4 catches for 78 yards and Kamryn Thomas had 2 catches for 57 yards. The Spartans had a chance to tie the game in 4th quarter after trailing 24-23. Their extra point was blocked and FAMU was flagged for going offsides. The Spartans went for two points after having the ball at the 1-yard line, didn’t convert and never got the ball back.
