Working Woman Wednesday. 10 Questions With Pink Triangle Owner.

Who or what inspired you to open Pink Triangle

This company was founded in 2013 and it sat idle for six years.  I believe God delayed the business because I wasn’t prepared to take on a venture like Pink Triangle.  I required time to mentally prepare for my role as CEO of a company.  After years of experience as an entrepreneur, I learned how to promote a product by using various marketing strategies.  As soon as I drew the purse line, I knew it had to be the right company to make the vision come to life.  With a creative mind, one must anticipate the unexpected.  Pink Triangle is undoubtedly something that will take any purse lover by surprise because it brings something different to the fashion industry.  That realization alone made me determined to be the one who thrills style-lovers everywhere.

My favorite tool in my business that helps me stay organized is…

Consistency and a willingness to engage in repetitive behavior are the primary methods by which I maintain my duties as the owner of Pink Triangle.  It is crucial for me to have structure in my surroundings.  When you enter my office, it is usually tidy and organized.  I am the type of person who cannot function in cluttered environments.  This company specifically requires me to have a creative mindset.  When I’m in a place that’s too junky, I can’t concentrate.  It will be difficult for me to continue working.  This is why I’m continually cleaning, so I can keep the business running smoothly.

The hardest part about growing my business is…

To perform all of the roles.  I am required to serve as the spokesperson, investor, mastermind and one who monitors inventory and marketing.  I have to do everything by myself right now since I don’t have a team.  It is difficult to manage multiple businesses and be a single mother at home. Sometimes the mental tension can be so overwhelming that I am tempted to give up.  You don’t always feel good or excited as a business owner.  If I did not have a relationship with God or supportive people in my life, I would have certainly given up a long time ago.

The best thing I ever did for my business was…

Committing to keeping an open mind and being willing to embrace life-changing scenarios. I have a basic understanding of a variety of topics, which allows me to execute the task at hand.  My main goal is to live and be the best version of myself.  My mission is to build Pink Triangle Collection into a multimillion-dollar company and I am committed to ensuring its fulfillment.

The hardest part of being a entrepreneur is…

When family members or friends want your product for free or at a discount price when they see you’re just starting out.  Some of them come off as if they are exempt from paying the full amount.  I cannot emphasize this enough, obtaining support from family or friends is like searching for a needle in a haystack.  I don’t think they realize how much of your own money you have to invest.  I consider it upsetting when a stranger respects your business more than your family or close friend.

The best hangout spot where I grew up was…

In the past, things were entirely different than they are now.  My favored hangout was playing basketball in the park.  I recall being out there for hours and not being the least bit bothered by it. The crazy thing is, my friends and I would have that same routine for days out of the week.

I am most at peace when I…

Experience a heightened state of tranquility when I am situated on a beach, devoid of thoughts over financial obligations, parental responsibilities or professional duties.

My idea of a perfect day would be…

All my obligations are taking care of, my children are in good health and I’m operating on a high vibration.

What brings you the greatest satisfaction…

When my company Pink Triangle Collection is thriving.  Being able to see your hard work paying off is the greatest sensation ever.

My life changed for the better when…

I relocated from Florida to Atlanta, Georgia.  I arrived with $125 and two infants.  At the time, hairstyling was my sole source of income.  Eventually, I obtained a second position at a elementary school as a paraprofessional.  What takes a stylist a year to accomplish, I accomplished in 30 days. This move enabled me to become a homeowner and get closer with God.  I became a celebrity hairstylist, author pf my first book, Puttling It All On Paper, feature in movies, become a motivational speaker and launch businesses.
