How did you discover your passion for comedy?

After I got divorced several years ago, I was at The Comedy Store with a comedian friend of mine named Jimmy Shin.  While watching the show I said “I would try that sometime.”  He responded “Okay, I’ll get you up next month.”  I worked on a set, performed and did okay.  I revised my set and got it better and better until I crushed on my third performance.  I’ve performed ever since, it’s fun to make people laugh.

Describe your comedy in three words?

Shocking, analytical and funny.

What was your favorite artist growing up?

My favorite comedian was Eddie Murphy and my favorite musician was Eddie Van Halen.

What are your music goals for 2022?

I’m writing and producing more songs right now, which are meaningful to me and I hope they will be meaningful to the world.

Any upcoming projects coming up that you would like to share with readers?

I have numerous comedy shows coming up at the various Improv Comedy Clubs, both Comedy Stores and my own show at Flappers Burbank.  I’m writing a song about the war in Ukraine and co-writing a song for a new movie which I can’t reveal yet.

If you could get front row tickets to any concert, what would it be?

Metallica.

Where’s the coolest place you’ve ever been/traveled to?

The Cook Islands.

What song will automatically cheer you up when you’re down?

Oasis “Wonderwall.” And DJ Sharpcut “It Could Only Be You.”

What is something you think about that makes you feel old?

I dragged my parents to see Billy Joel when I was younger, at The San Diego Sports Arena when I was a kid.  They were the only ones with grey hair in the audience.  Now, I’ll be the one with grey hair at many shows.

What is a habit that you have been trying to quit, but haven’t been able to?

Ice cream.  I’m an ice cream addict, but I’m in a 31-step program.

If God grants you three wishes, what would you ask for?

As typical as it sounds, currently world peace for one.  I would like for homelessness in The U.S. to end and I would like the pandemic to end.  If I get a bonus wish, I would like to be able to fly also.
